Very well put. I've often browsed through the catalogs for The Teaching Company with an itch toward buying a series on ancient or medieval history, but haven't yet justified the cost. Even on sale they're a little pricey.

Also, I love the Shaw quote. I'll have to remember that one. :)

Hey JD,

Have you tried your local library? Mine has several of their audiobooks and DVD series, plus you can request audio and video through inter-library loan. I understand that sometimes libraries don't want to loan out their videos, but you could give it a shot.
