I highly recommend the short version of Orlov's book at Energy Bulletin. The parallels of our coming collapse to the Soviet Union's is uncanny, but they were way more prepared than most of us will be.

At the bookstore today, I flipped through Peter Schiff's "Crash Proof: How to Profit From the Coming Economic Collapse," and he recommends a lot of the same things you do. Did you know he was going to be Ron Paul's economic adviser? No wonder RP was kept out of the lamestream media.

No, I didn't know that about Schiff, that's interesting. I might have expected Ron Paul to pick someone more academic, like John Williams. I'm interested to see if Schiff is right that the Asian world will decouple from the West and continue to grow, even as Western banking & currencies fall apart.
